Mailing Lists

A mail­ing list is a list of addresses you or your com­pany would use to send spe­cif­ic types of email mes­sages to mul­tiple recip­i­ents at a time. A pop­u­lar use of mail­ing lists is for News­let­ters or Product/Service updates.

Host­ing cli­ents will have access to mail­ing lists in our bespoke con­trol pan­el — check your plan details. You will have the abil­ity to cre­ate, modi­fy or delete mail­ing lists.

IMPORTANT: Please make sure that all the email recip­i­ents are sub­scribed to a the mail­ing list before send­ing a mass mail­ing.

How To Create A Mailing List

The mail­ing list allows a single email to be sent to mul­tiple recip­i­ents at a time. For the recip­i­ents to receive the email, they have to be sub­scribed to the mail­ing list.

In the Con­trol Pan­el got to Email => Mail­ing Lists =>“Cre­ate A New Mail­ing List” but­ton. When the new win­dow appears, fol­low these steps:

1. Mail­ing List Address — this is also the name of your list, e.g. [email protected] . When you have added a list of sub­scribers to this mail­ing list, simply send­ing a mes­sage to [email protected] will reach your sub­scribers.
2. Admin­is­trat­or’s E‑mail Address — this is the mail­ing list admin con­tact email address — you can choose any email to be your admin email.
3. Admin­is­trat­or’s Pass­word — this pass­word pass­word you set for the mail­ing list.

Finally click on Cre­ate a Mail­ing List and your new mail­ing list will be suc­cess­fully activ­ated!

How To Add Subscribers To The Mailing List

To sub­scribe to your mail­ing list, each recip­i­ent has to send an email to [email protected] with a blank sub­ject and the fol­low­ing text in the mes­sage body: sub­scribe [email protected] my@email_address.com

A more detailed mes­sage with addi­tion­al instruc­tions will be received and once sub­scribed the recip­i­ent will get an intro­duct­ory mes­sage that con­tains list policies and fea­tures.

Note: These instruc­tions apply to those host­ing through either HostFraser.com or EcoCPanel.com but are also applic­able to any oth­er plat­form util­ising the Major­do­mo Mail­ing soft­ware.

• Elast­ic Email: An email mar­ket­ing soft­ware that can be used to cre­ate, send, and track emails to large lists.
• Mailchimp: An email mar­ket­ing soft­ware that can be used to cre­ate, send, and track emails to large lists.
